Letter from Gleaners

Dear friends of St. Patrick Church and School,

Just wanted to share huge, huge gratitude for the combined efforts of the School and Church in food driving to support food insecure individuals in Livingston County.
Your generous combined gifts of 9,862 pounds during October, November and December to Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan will provide exactly 8,185 meals to your hungry neighbors in need! You are helping us close our million pound gap in distributing no- to low-cost food that goes out in the five counties that we serve. Outstanding job!

Without advocates like you in our community Gleaners would not be able to collect over 2.5 million pounds of food from food drives and distribute them to our 499 partners each year, including soup kitchens, food pantries, homeless shelters, senior homes, schools, and others. Through your support, you are helping to connect hungry people with the food they need when and where they need it.

Thank you for choosing Gleaners and supporting our mission to nourish communities by feeding hungry people. I look forward to working with you again in the future!

Best Regards,

Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan

Successful Coat Drive

The Christian Service Committee would like to extend a most heartfelt thank you to the St. Pat’s School community for their generous donations for our 1st Coat Drive benefitting Bountiful Harvest. We are in awe of the beautiful items that came in that will surely spread warmth and comfort to the hearts of many located right here in our community. Over 100 coats were collected for all age groups along with 15 pair of snow pants, 5 snowsuits, and dozens of scarves, mittens, hats and gloves, and even a few pair of boots!!!!  May the dear Lord bless you all!!

“ The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’ Matthew 25:40

Senior Citizens Christmas Blessings Project

The donation will be going directly to Livingston County Catholic Charities for their annual Christmas Blessings Project for county homebound seniors.  Instead of a week long donation drive, which  we have done in the past, we will have a casual day.  Donations of toilet paper, tissue paper or paper towels will go to senior citizen Christmas Blessings Project.

Christmas Closet Project

The Christian Service Committee is organizing a Gift Donations Drive for Bountiful Harvest’s ‘Christmas Closet’.  Donations are for children ages 4-14 – anything that interests your child we are sure a needy child would appreciate too (toy, craft, gift card for teens, etc.) Donations will be collected November 12-16.  The Bountiful Harvest families will be selecting from the donations Closet at the end of November. Your generosity and thoughtfulness will make Christmas special for kids in need right here in our community. Thank you for your support.

Angel Food Ministry

The Christian Services Committee Angel Foods ministry provides dinners to school families facing a crisis.  If you wish to be added to the volunteer list of food providers, please contact Jane Larson at

Christian Services Committee Description

The St. Patrick School Christian Service Committee has four major ministries.  These include Christian Service Projects , such as food drives, Magdalen’s kitchen, and packaging food.  We also share Good News throughout the school by decorating for different celebrations throughout the liturgical year.   Another ministry that we provide is the Meals Ministry, where we provide meals and rides for our families in need. Lastly, we plan and prepare for Catholic Schools Week, which is an exciting an important week of fun activities to promote our wonderful Catholic School.
